Fairport aftercare services have roles available within their semi-independent services in Dublin city, and services throughout Leinster. As a Person In Charge (PIC), you’ll be more than a title – you’ll be a driving force and advocate for empowering individuals to lead lives to the fullest. Your role will be pivotal as you become the central liaison among the young people we support, their families, multi-disciplinary teams, senior management, communities, and more.

The role involves leading a committed team with a clear ethos in supporting young people aged 18-23 to lead full independent lives post experiencing the care system. Collaborating closely with the area manager, you’ll play a vital part in shaping key decisions. Flexibility will be your hallmark, adapting to evolving service needs and integrating into our dynamic team.

We fully adopt the responsibilities that come with being a PIC under the HIQA Regulations.

Job Types: ( Maternity Cover) , Fixed term

Salary: €52,000-€60,000 per year DOE

 

Your main responsibilities as PIC will include:

  • Lead the care team in the provision of excellent evidenced based care and implement all aspects of the aftercare plans based on the needs identified and review accordingly
  • Non-judgmental approach
  • A comprehensive view and understanding on HIQA standards in aftercare setting.
  • Plan, allocate and evaluate the workload of all staff
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding systems in line with Policies and Procedures
  • Liaise with all professionals who have a bona fede interest in the young people
  • Grow and develop the organisation.
  • Through supervision Identify staff training needs and provide accordingly.
  • Recruit, select and effectively manage future employee’s and our current workforce.

 

Qualifications & Experience required:

  • Level 7/8 Degree in Social Studies (or suitable equivalent qualification with a management qualification in Healthcare).
  • Experience in leading and managing teams.
  • Min 5yrs experience post qualification( 3 years social care setting- 2 in a senior roll)
  • Driving license desirable
  • Working knowledge of HIQA Standards

Experience:

  • Management: 2 years (preferred)
  • Social Care: 3 years (required)
